Light as a feather, strong AF!

This rod is ridiculously light for its lure and line rating and it handles big fish like a dream. Considering how physically small it is, and coupled with its light weight, it is deceptive how easily it handles fish in the 80# class (my biggest to date on this bad boy is a 87 lb BFT). i have it paired with an Ocea Jigger Custom F 3000 and spooled with 440 meters of Verivas Jigging read more 10 x 10 PE#5 and I have no doubt whatsoever that this combo will handle triple digit fish

I’ve thoroughly enjoyed this rod. It’s incredibly light has a great backbone and handles fish with ease. Love it

Only had this thing for a couple months now but it is an absolute workhorse. The lightest jigging rod I’ve ever owned yet still gets the job done. When we were sold this rod he talked about how he had caught a 250# shark on it. I was skeptical because of the size but this thing is super powerful and gets the job done for jigging

Looking at the xx-heavy. It says unlimited. I have a 10500 spinfisher With 100lb braid for large sharks. How would this rod match up to the reel?

KRAIG FRIEDMAN 4 years ago

Unfortunately, the reel will not even fit onto the rod. The foot of the reel is too thick for the reel seat.

Asked by Les 5 years ago

What is the biggest Twin Power or Stella reel I can fit with GTYPJS586

Bernie 5 years ago

8000 stella swb would be the largest you can go with keeping everything balanced.

I am looking for a 1 pc lightweight fast action spinning rod with back bone for blackfish jigging ..which model is best ? It will pair up with my van staal vs150

Bernie 6 years ago

The heavy mod fast 6 foot would work best for the type of fishing your doing.

Will the XH model fit a shimano Forcemaster 9000?

Brendan - TackleDirect Customer Service 2 years ago

<span>Hi Ameer, The Shimano Forcemaster 9000 is designed and intended for Deep Drop fishing. This is not intended or recommended to be used with any jigging rod. Instead I would recommend a Daiwa Tanacom Dendoh Offshore Deep Drop Rod. </span><a>https://ww

Good day. I am looking for a short rod for bottom fishing and I am considering the XH conventional (<a href="https://www.tackledirect.com/shimano-gtjc56xha-game-type-j-conventional-jigging-rod.html">GTJC56XHA</a>) to use with my Talica 16 with 80Lb braid.

Brendan - TackleDirect Customer Service 2 years ago

<span>The Shimano GTJC56XHA Game Type J Conventional Jigging Rod would be good for bottomfishing. However since this rod is currently sold out, I would also recommend a Daiwa SLTGJ58XXHB Saltiga Jigging Conventional Rod. </span><a>https://www.tackledirect

Hi there, what model would be the best match for a ocea jigger 2001 NR with 50 pound braid?

Rick - TackleDirect Customer Service 2 years ago

Flavio,<p>The Shimano Game Type J Jigging rod GTJC56HA (SHM-4296) will pair very nicely with your Shimano Ocea Jigger 2000NR reel w/ 50lb braid.  Please let us know if there is anything else we can assist you with.</p>

Is The XX heavy conventional a stiff rod or does it flex a lot a shimano trevala butterfly rod.

Alex T 3 years ago

These new Type J rods are the spiral X blanks which tend to have a slightly stronger stiffer feel, while still maintaining a high performance bend you're used to from a shimano jigging rod.<p>These rods are brand new for 2021 so we have not physically han

would the GTYPJB605 be suitable with a talica 20 for blue fin tuna up to 100lbs? if not, what shimano jigging rod would you suggest?

Donald 6 years ago

The GTYPJB605 would be a suitable reel for the TLD 20 for the size fish your targeting.

I'm in the market for 2 Vertical Speed Jigging Rods. I will be pairing them up with a Twin power 5000XG and a Twin power 8000PG. Debating between Black Hole Cape Cod special 80g and 150g, or Game Type J S603 and S605. Which would be the better fit? Lookin

Donald 6 years ago

The Game Type J S603 and S605 paired with the Twinpower 5000 and 8000 size reels will match great together and make up great reliable combos.

Asked by Carcharinus 7 years ago

Hi I would like to know if the shimano game type J B684 would serve me to move well lures from 100 to 150 gr in depths of approx. 40 m. Thank you

Devon 7 years ago

The GTYPJB604 would be the best fit for lures that heavy in a conventional rod, and GTYPJS603 in a spinning. Different lengths are available in these particular models.

Asked by Jaime Perez 7 years ago

I would like to start on slow jigging what shimmno rod nd reel you recommend? Jigs from 60 to 160 gr

Devon 7 years ago

We'd recommend a Game Type J model number GTYPJB603 paired up with a Shimano Talica sizes 10, 12 or 16 depending on how heavy of a line you are using. The Shimano Trevala or Trevala S would be the more affordable option in Shimano jigging rods.

Asked by luis sardinas 8 years ago

are all these jigging rod on the order chapter spinning or convectional?

Tyler 8 years ago

They are both spinning and conventional. The model number with GTYPJB is the conventional rods. The model number with GTYPJS is spinning.

Asked by Pedro Silva 8 years ago

Is this rod fit for mechanical jigging and speed jigging?

David 8 years ago

I would say that this rod should work fine for that application. If I was in the market for a jigging rod I would consider this one, and also rods made by Black Hole.
