Best!!!
These Rods are one of the best rods I have ever used for Pier fishing and Budget friendly. I have 7 of them and My boys are hard on everything and these have stood up to the task. Thanks Star Rods or Sea Striker
Good for the cost
Certainly not the best of rods but for the money its hard to beat. Very stiff so casting can be a chore but if you need something with backbone to quickly yank fish away from structure this is what you want.
Great Surf Stick but be sure to change out the guides.
Everything about this rod says quality except for the existing guides. I removed the guides and switched over to a concept style guide set and now the rod is top notch. It casts a mile, and is far more sensitive. I use it as my surf stick for fluke, and for schoolie bass and midsize blues on bucktails and light poppers and small darters.
Great rod bad guides
All the guides on the rod had cracked after one year.
Beach Runner 9’ and 10 ‘ Rods
I am writing this review with the disclaimer that I have not fished with the rods yet, but I have been fishing with Sea Striker rods for nearly 20 years and I have had no problems with the Sea Striker composite surf rods that ive Had that long. After examining the two Beach Runner rods I recently purchased ive Come to the conclusion that the guality for the money has not been… read more compromised. I bought the Beach Runners, 9 and 10 rods, in preparation for a September surf casting trip on Long Island and I am confident that these rods will not let me down. Sea striker is a good value added company and I look forward to using more of their products in the years to come.
Great all day
I have 9ft rod and I have been using 4 years for twice a week for 8 or 9 mnts from long island ny I pull lot of bluefish and stripers ones tip broke and one of the guite broke on me all this time for price and what u get out of it is great buy nothing different than tsunami rods
Not recommended
I would love this rod if the guides would stop breaking. I take great care of my equipment. I contacted Sea Striker about the guide breaking via email and asked them if they could send me a guide since it's only a couple years old.
I didn't ask for a repair or replacement, just a guide. Their response pretty much said it's out of warranty and there is nothing they can do.…

In other words we have your money and you have our junk, sorry. I took it to a local guy who is reasonable and he replaced the guide but before I got home another one broke and the insert fell out . I have other rods of this brand that have served me well but I think I'll probably look elsewhere in the future and I buy lots of fishing rods. I work too hard for my money:
Great Surf Fluking Rod
For the price this is a great rod for throwing 3/4-2 oz bucktails. I use it mainly for fluking off the beach/jetties and have caught many fish with it.
9' Sea Striker Beach Runner Surf Rod
...I've had the 9' Sea Striker Beach Runner surf rod for two seasons now and I couldn't be happier with it. Throws a wide variety of plugs & lures with ease, but it really loves launching a 5" 1-3/8 oz or 6" 2-1/4 oz Tsunami Talkin' Popper or 6" Gibbs Pencil Popper. Paired with a moderately priced Okuma Epixor Baitfeeder EB-50, it does a great job filling the gap between my 8' Tsunami… read more Airwave & a 10" Lamiglas Surf & Jetty. It's light enough to throw plugs for a couple hours, has nice action to walk a pencil popper, and all at a price that I don't cringe if it gets banged around a bit in the back of the truck. This is a great rod at the regular price, if it's on sale it's a steal! Buy a couple extra & give them as gifts! Recommended.
Nice Rod for the price
I haven't used the rod that long but my initial impressions are good. I used this rod to throw 3/4oz to 2oz lures and coupled with my penn fierce, this thing casts a mile and a half. The rod feels more higher end then the price. Nice finish and not too heavy. All in all I am please so far.
Sea Striker
Rod Looks and feels great. Will try it the end of January on Red fish in Texas.
Great value
Sea Striker and Star rods are owed by the same company. This rod in every way is equal to a Star Stellar Lite that costs $119.00. GREAT ROD AT A FANTASTIC PRICE!
Excellent pier rod
I use rod for pier fishing. Works great!! Catching whiting, black drum, speckled trout, pompano.
Cast wonderful!!
Hi Mario, The Sea Striker Beach Runner Graphite Surf Spinning Rods come in at a weight of 11.7oz for the 8ft variant and 12.4 for the 9ft variant. Please let us know if there is anything else we can assist you with! Tight lines!
Hello Andre',

Yes, you can abvsolutely use braided line with this rod. Tight lines!

Yes this rod is a 50/50 split.
Given the lure weights on the 8' and 9' models these rods would be suitable for casting lighter jigs and plugs, but rods in this more affordable price range are generally not the lightest in terms of overall weight.
The Sea Striker Beach Runner Graphite Surf Spinning Rods are built with a graphite tubular blank for strength and sensitivity. It would work well casting poppers, soft plastics and bucktails.
It depends on the rod. Which length are you interested in?
