In recent years there has been a craze among fisherman to use Red line. But Why? The logic behind this trend is based largely on the color spectrum in water. Since shades of red are the first color to fade it is thought that by using red colored line the anglers line "disappear" underwater. Truth be... told Red does not disappear but in fact turn to a shade of Gray. This gray tone will help to blend the line in to the background and become much less visible to most fish that swim. The color red will completely fade out at a depth of 14 feet. Therefore when targeting fish in depths of 20 feet or greater Red Line is ideal. 80 lb. test works well for trolling striper on Cape Cod. Set your drags correctly and you're good to go.

I recently started trying the red line. It has a low UV shine, which I think is a good thing, and yet the color stands out well above the surface.

I utilize this line for fishing for Monster Sturgeon ( 6 - 12 Feet) on Columbia River. This line has performed exceptional with no problems. The longevity of this line is really good. I have had this line on my reel for past three years without any issues.

The #65 casts like mono. I use it to throw poppers, surface irons (Tady C, Salas 6X Jr, etc), colt sniper and mega baits on my Daiwa Saltist 30N and Calstar 90J. SoCal style.

easily visible for the fisherman, yet hard to see under water, use with a good fluorocarbon leader for best experience. Whether the fish can see the line underwater is unknown, however my experience has proven to me that on challenging days I've gotten more bites and landed more fish than others.
