Beefy rod in a small, lightweight package

Paired with Okuma M-5S Metaloid Single Speed Lever Drag Reel for a great little setup for jigging up sea monsters from Mexico. Why aren't more West Coasters using setups like these versus the heavy gear seen all over the cattle boats?

Phenix Megalodon Jigging Casting Rods Questions and Answers

Asked by Kevin 5 years ago

How would this rod be for rock fish and big Ling

Alyssa Madosky 5 years ago

If you are doing mostly jigging using 5-8 oz in deep water then yes. It is a short stiff rod so you do not get much versatility out of it but it will certainly work for rockfish and ling just if your style is jigging!

Asked by Peyton 3 years ago

What line weight are these rods?

Paul Olah 3 years ago

These rods are using a PE rating for the braided line. PE rating is a measure of the lines diameter and not the pound test. Most brands make it fairly easy to determine the pound test of the line if you just multiply the PE rating by 10.  <a href="https:/
