Impressive Rod

Bought this to fish Cobia on the Chesapeake Bay. When I got the rod I was thinking it was going to be alittle undersized and I should have got the M instead of the ML. Well let’s just say on the rods first trip we caught 5 up to 50 pounds. I will be buying more.

Incredible Rod!

Great feel and action. I can cast it miles, feel the lightest strikes and has enough backbone to land large mahi and black fins.
I paired this rod with a VanStahl 150 and couldn’t be happier! A quality rod with a quality rod!

Awesome in shore rod for the price

It cast so well and super sensitive, strong back bone , soft enough tip, I use it hooked up couple nice snook , but I think it will hook up even bigger fish. Worth every penny of cost.

Phenix Black Diamond Spinning Rods Questions and Answers

Ask a Question

Asked by Zachary Jones 2 years ago

Would the 8H be a good fit for Stella 8000 for casting to schools of bluefin on the west coast.

Brendan - TackleDirect Customer Service 2 years ago

<span>Hi Zachary, The Phenix PSW809H Black Diamond Spinning Rod would be great for casting to bluefin tuna. However since it's sold out I would also recommend a Ocean Tackle International TS2 Popping Rod. Specifically Model: OTI-TS27680120; TD Code: OTI-T

Would a torqe 7 be a good fit for the 7’ heavy?

Rebecca Redington 4 years ago

The Penn Torque II 7500 will be a good match for boat applications. The 5500 would balance better.

Would the 700h be too heavy for live bait applications? Mahi, Kings, small tuna

Chris 6 years ago

No that would work great.
