Rod is well built with quality parts, and a good value for the price. Performed as expected for a slow pitch rod.

Kayak angler in the chesapeake bay. I typically jig in the 1oz-3 oz range. Catching striped bass, bull reds and cobia. Which model would you recommend?

Alex T 3 years ago

I would recommend the Medium rated rod, these seem to be rated a little heavier than most Medium rated slow pitch rods with a max jig weight of 350grams which is well over what you typically use.
The medium should have more than enough back bone for you

Asked by Junior 3 years ago

I’ve seen videos of people slow pitching for tuna up to 40lb range.. do you recommend do this?

Alex T 3 years ago

Penn typically makes very strong quality rods for the price. This is one of there newer rod models i have not handled personally myself, but these should certainly make easy work of smaller class tuna with the M or MH rated rod

Asked by Randall Macy 3 years ago

What Penn reel is Penn saying to match with this Slow Pitch Jigging Rod?

Alex T 3 years ago

I would recommend pairing this rod with a Penn Squall or smaller Fathom level wind reel
