You can't beat the quality of Owner hooks for bottom fishing.This is my go-to hook for mid-sized Amberjack and Grouper. For larger specimens use the same series, juts go up to 8/0 to 10/0. For fish less than about 30 pounds, same 6/0 hook but go with the Owner thinner wire hooks.
Remember for Gulf reef fishing the INLINE circle hook is required.

I use these hook on my hi/lo rigs for Big Red Snapper in The Gulf out of Pt. Aransas ,Texas.
They are inline.carbon steel ,circle hooks that coform to the rules for fishing for reef fish.They hook..they hold.You can catch Red Snapper 12 months of the year in our State Waters& I do..

What more can you say about owners. i'm going to use these for deep-drop tile fishing trip. I find the owner hooks to be of top quality. Trokar and gamakatus are the equivalent....

I was looking for straight eye circle hook for a while.
I lived straight eye hook. It allow me nice uni knot.

The Owner SSW In Line Circle hooks are the best hook on the market for what I use them for - live lining bunker and eels. Sharp hook that always penetrates the mouth and it takes about 10+ trips before I start to see rust on the hook.
