My youngest son is off to Kansas State University so I got him a rod he can transport easily. This is a quality rod and he's already caught numerous largemouth bass at the local lake, so it's all broken in for Kansas.

Fantastic inshore and coastal rod

One of the nicest high-quality spinning rods of use. Love the travel capabilities and the case.. Has not come apart during the fight, cast, or riding in the rod holder. Performs as good as a single piece rod.

Travels with me everywhere!

This rod is excellent for the traveling angler. I recently purchased one for my brother and one for my son. Mine is paired with a size 4000 reel and has caught fish in Aruba, Bahamas, Puerto Rico, Florida, Alabama etc etc etc. I have caught bluefish, snook, tarpon, amberjack and many more. It is a solid buy!

Great for traveling with gear.

Nice rod, bit lighter than expected

Very nice looking rod, great finish. Nice reel seat. The 3pc is an awesome feature, and with these ferrule connections, it feels close enough to a one-piece. Definitely not worse than a 2pc. So, great for travelling.
The rod M-MH is a bit lighter than I was expecting. Visually, there doesn't seem to be much of a difference between the 2 tips. Although, there is only a few pounds read more difference, I was hoping/expecting a bigger difference.

Two rods in one case, with this rod you can sellect the option you will fish, mine is H and MH, my best sippining rod for inshore fishing, in the atlantic of Costa Rica there is large snooks and tarpon, this rod can handle any fish, the carry case is awesome, lot of space. absolute protection for the rod , in fac I carry my two rods with the four tips in one case.

Okuma Nomad Inshore Travel Rods Questions and Answers

Ask a Question

Asked by Jose Bird 11 years ago

Is the medium weight of this rod going to be able to handle kingfish or decent sized jacks with comfort, or is that middle weight easier for baby tarpon? not a 20 min. fight if you know what i mean Thank you

Customer Service 11 years ago

If you go with the rod on the included link you get both the Medium and Medium Heavy tip section (two are included). This will easily handle small tarpon, kingfish and jacks.

Asked by Roger 10 years ago

What is the length of the individual sections and the length of the case? Need to be sure it would fit in a 32" suitcase.

Customer Service 10 years ago

The case measures 32" x 5" x 2.5". It should fit into the suitcase, but it will be tight. You should be able to carry it on.

Customer Service 9 years ago

Okuma does not list lure ratings for these rods.Based on the line ratings, we would say 1/2 to 1 1/2 ounces.

Asked by Grant 6 years ago

Which model would be best for a vs150 for snook, jacks and redfish

Donald 6 years ago

The Okuma NTi-S-703M-MH Nomad Inshore Travel Spinning Rod would match well with the VS 150 fishing for Reds, Snook and Amberjacks.

Can handle 100lbs tuna of this rod casting inshore

Chris 5 years ago

This is a little light, but the right angler could certainly make this work. We suggest something a little heavier

Asked by Ken Slim 6 years ago

Would the M/MH spinning model be well suited for King Salmon ?

Ricky 6 years ago

Yes, this rod would work well. The only other company travel rod I would look at would be the St. Croix.

Yes this will work fine

Asked by John Ingrish 5 years ago

Would this pair well with Penn Slammer 5500 for Caribbean beach, inshore, and flat fishing.

Bernie De Graaf 5 years ago

The slammers are great reels but you want to downsize the 5500 to a 4500 to balance out better with the nomad inshore

Asked by Samad Abdul nasser 5 years ago

Rebecca 5 years ago

Depends on where specifically. We do ship to the Philippines.

Bernie 5 years ago

The m/mh will be a more versatile rod.

Can handle 40lbs fish

Bernie 5 years ago

That rod would be a stretch for 40+ pound fish you might want to lean towards something in a medium heavy power.
