This rod is a work of art!
This rod is a work of art! It has a great feel and balances well with my Penn SSVI 4500. I appreciate TackleDirect it was very fast I received the rod on time from the day of purchase, their customer service was excellent as I had a few issues which were eventually corrected and they showed their confidence, which is a game changer. I will be doing much more business with TackleDirect… read more altogether in the future. They also know how to ship the fishing rods...they pack them in very secure containers...
ODM NXD 10.6 FT
I didn't use yet but it seems great fishing rod i definitely highly recommended. I have also Salt - X both fishing are great.
Very sensitive and casts great
Since buying the rod (9'), I have nothing but good experiences with the rod. Light, sensitive and can cast anything over 1 oz a good distance. Light enough for porgy and fluke, yet strong enough to handle them blues and heavy plugs out in the surf.
Quality Rod, Good Pricing
After weeks of research I finally landed on the ODM NXD-104 D.N.A. Surf Rod 10. After hearing many reviews it was one of the best rods for the pricing. Still carries most of the great qualities of the more expensive rods but at a better price for this older generation model. I liked the quality, build, and sensitivity. Tackle Direct had a good turn around on processing and shipped… read more quickly.
This rod is a beast!
The rod I have is a 106 and use it for striper fishing. This thing slings it effortlessly. You wont regret buying this rod.
Excellent rod for the price
Great sensitivity and casts well. Cant beat the price and fast shipping.
Awesome!
Love the rod, great performance and light as a feather!
Great ODM rod purchase.
Hella light. Matched it with Shimano Gosa 6k. Perfect here in CA beaches. Cast for miles .Very happy with the purchase.
Nice surf rod!
Very happy with this purchase. Its everything
that they advertised. Liked that action, light
weight. Just need to fish more ?
Awesome rod
My husband loves this one. Super psyched we got it
NXD935
I paired this rod with a VSX150. It has performed well! I foul hooked a 25-30 lb cow nose ray and it handled it with ease.
Great
Very good
DNA 10.5 ft
This rod has performed very well. The rod loads well at bot ends of the recommended weight range, it's light and strong . I paired it with VS VR175 . So far it's handled Striped bass up to 20lbs with no problem.
Casts like a broomstick
The rod is just so stiff. Ive had 80 dollar basspro surf rods that load up better than this rod. Its ok for like magic swimmers and danny plugs where you dont need distance but for distance casting this isnt the rod
Amazing Rod
By far my favorite rod in my arsenal. It's extremely light and well built. Worth every penny. You can carry and throw all day with this rod
Typically i would recommend at least a 5000 for surf casting purposes, but the Stradic 4000 and 5000 are identical reels, just with the 5000 adding a little more line capacity.
Pairing a Stradic 4000 or 5000 with this rod would do just fine with either
Gary,
Either the VR50 or the new VR75 will pair nicely with the ODM D.N.A. 8ft surf rod. Please let us know if there is anything else we can assist you with.

This rod is a 60/40 split which means the longest section will be about 4'9". The distance from center of reel seat to butt cap is about 20"-21"
I would recommend pairing with the Saragosa 10000 size but the 14000 would also do well if you were looking strictly for a canal set up.
Unfortunately we are not able to locate any reliable sources as far as the specs go on the weight of these rods.

As per the manufacturer the distance is approximately 23 inches.
The VR50 would be a bit small on that rod. I would go with the 125-150 size for the 9 footer.
I would go with the 10' model in this case.
That reel would match up nicely with that rod and should balance well.
Unfortunately, ODM does not list the actual weight of this rod.
I would recommend the 9' rod if primarily fishing bucktails on the lighter side, But since you are throwing heavier jigs and occasionally poppers i would think the 10' model would be best for your application,
I would pair that rod with either a Penn Sl
As long as you have room on the boat to use an 8' rod i dont see why not, I use the 7'6 1 pc model pretty regularly on the boat.
This rod would pair very well with a Saragosa 6000, this combo should be able to handle almost any inshore/nearshore species
I would definitely say this would be a great pairing. Very great rod paired with an unmatched reel.
If you are strictly using for pier fishing you could get away with using either the 10' 10'6 models

I would recommend the 9' ML, this rod is rated 1/2oz-3.5 so thatll give you plenty of range depending on what you are throwing. with 20# braid on a VR50 you will be able to make monster casts, and both the rod and reel are tough enough to withstand trophy
Hunter,
Unfortunately, the Abu Garcia Blue Yonder Baitcasting reel does not pair with any of the ODM DNA surf rods as they are all spinning rods. A rod that would pair with the Blue Yonder reel would be the St.Croix Mojo Surf MSC100MMF2 (SCR-1030). Th
These two would make a very well balanced light weight surf combo, capable of handling many inshore species
Either reel would balance fine with this rod. the 4500 is a whole 6oz lighter therefore making it more comfortable casting for long periods, but has 5# less max drag.
If you are fishing heavy structure or rocks I would go with the 5500 just for the adde
Hello Jimmy,

Yes, a 5k Saragosa would pair perfectly with the 10 foot DNA.

Scott, yes that would make for a very well balanced surf combo.
Yes, the grips/butt of these rods is one of their qualities that makes them so popular.
You can go with either size reel on this rod, they are very similar in weight and how they would balance out on the 8' ODM DNA Surf Rod. Since you are going with 15lb braid, we would recommend sticking with the 3500. Slightly lighter than the 4500, holds
The stradic 4000FL will fit on this rod but is going to be a little to light.
Hello Tony, This rod would be great for catching stripers. Should be able to handle sturgeons if you hook into one.
The 9ft would pair nicely with the vr 175
A 4k BG would be great on a 9ft. It should balance out nicely as well.
NXD-935 weighs 13.28 oz NXD-104 weighs 14.88 oz NXD-115 weighs 18.08 oz
Hi Charles, The Shimano SRG6000SWAHG Saragosa SW A Spinning Reel would pair nicely with a 8ft or 9ft ODM DNA Surf Spinning Rod. Please let us know if theres anything else we can assist you with. Tight Lines.
6 oz max is the most weight I would do on this rod.
Yes, that reel and rod would make a great pairing
The vr175 would pair better with the 10 foot odm DNA
22 inches
They are made in China
Either would match up well with the 7500lc the 10 foot would be good for lures while the 11 foot would be good for cutbait
Next week
THe 710z would work. The shimano ultegra ci4+ would work as well it would also depend on which rod length

Hello Michael, the ODM D.N.A. surf rod in the 9 foot is rated up to 3.5 oz. Throwing 3 oz would not be a problem.
