That’s my favorite rod so far. Can handle 30lbs stripper easily paired with twin power 5000.

Really good rod

This is a famous rod to the surf casters here along the east coast. Sensitive, strong back bone, casts great, and slim!

Sweet rod

Absolutely great rod, strong, durable, casts well, fishes well and has tons of back bone. Can't go wrong with a Lamiglas, no matter what model they're all good and the GSB is their flagship rod

As Expected.

I matched this rod with the Shimano Ultragra CI4 Surf Reel, loaded with Yozury 40lbs Braided line and I can say I am very pleased with this rod. It casts effortlessly, The Moderate action and sensitivity are just perfect for lures and Jigs.

Smooth as silk

The load and cast are smooth as silk, and I get just about pinpoint accuracy even when I gut it. Surprisingly lightweight and beautifully crafted, top of the line rod. Very proud to own it.

I have a 9ft Lamiglas GSB Medium rod. What reels would you recommend in the $100-$150 range ? Also what reels do you recommend in the $150-$250 range? Im  looking to use it for casting spoons and Diamond Jigs for Spanish Mackerel and False Albacore.

Huy - TackleDirect Customer Service 2 years ago

<span>Hi Steve, For the 9ft Lamiglas GSB I would recommend a few reels in your price range. For the $100-$150 range I would recommend the Daiwa Eliminator in a 4000-4500 size, The Penn Battle III or Penn Battle III DX in 4000- 5000 size, or the Daiwa BG i

Can this go with VR175 and Spool - 40lb PP?

Devon 6 years ago

Absolutely. The 10' and longer models would pair the best with a VR 175.

Asked by Rob 4 years ago

Thinking about pairing the gsb 91 ls with a vs150. Good match?

Brian 4 years ago

Yes the 150 would pair up best with that rod, would balance out really well on it.

Asked by Sam 3 years ago

What is the length of the handle (rod butt to the bottom of the reel seat) on the GSB11MS?

Alex T 3 years ago

Unfortunately at this time we do not have this item in stock so I cannot confirm an exact butt measurement, after researching Lamiglas specs and the internet I was unable to find any accurate information of this rods butt length

Between the Daiwa Ballistic BLSL6000D-C and Penn Spinfisher  VI 6500 Long Cast, which one will suit best with the Lamiglas GSB10MS?

Austin Kearney 3 years ago

I would go with the Spinfisher VI 6500 for the GSB. It will hold up to the salt better and the LC version will help improve your overall casting distance.

What reels in the $150 to $250 range would you recommend for the 9ft Medium? I need something with a faster retrieve for Spanish Mackerel.

Huy - TackleDirect Customer Service 2 years ago

<span>Hi Steve, For the 9ft Medium Lamiglas GSB I have a few reels that I would recommend. On the lower end of your price range, I recommend the Shimano Spheros SW A in a 5000 or 6000 size or the Penn SpinFisher in the 4500 or 5500 size. In the upper end

Asked by Adam 4 years ago

I have a daiwa BG3500. Planning a trip to Florida and would like to use my reel for both surf and inshore/shore/pier fishing. Would a 9’ gsb be a good Choice for an all around rod?

Bernie De Graaf 4 years ago

The pairing of the 3500 BG and a 9 foot gsb would work though you may want to step up to a 4500 Daiwa BG

Asked by Kyle 6 years ago

Is the 11MS a good match for the Ultegra 14k XTD?

Bernie 6 years ago

It would be a good heavy duty surf setup the 14K is a heavy reel not something you want to be casting all day.

Asked by Chris 5 years ago

What is the weight of this rod (the 8 foot). Thanks

Tyler 5 years ago

The rod weight is 9.6oz

Asked by Steve 5 years ago

Would you recommend the 11LS or 11MS for most New Jersey surf applications? Most plugs I throw are in the 1-2 oz range, with my max being about 3oz

Bernie 5 years ago

The 11 foot medium would probably be your best choice for surf fishing off the Jersey coast.

Asked by Cliff 5 years ago

Looking for a  lighter walk the beach/bay combo with the power to handle a surpise 20+ lb Striper. Feel like this 8ft GSB paired with the VR50 would be very versatile.  Do you have a better suggested pairing?

Bernie De Graaf 5 years ago

The gsb 8 foot paired with the vr50 would make a great combo, also the mojo surf 8 foot paired with the vr50 would make a great combo

Asked by Frank 5 years ago

I am interested in the GSB11LS; what reel would you pair with it?

Bernie De Graaf 5 years ago

The 5500 Shimano Ultegra ci4+
