As for the rod, it's an excellent product. Very light, very comfortable. Plenty of backbone for anything you would encounter in its class. While this is advertised as their "fluke" rod, this is more than enough rod for inshore sea bass fishing and will certainly handle all but the biggest tog you will encounter in the mid-Atlantic. I paired this with a Penn Fathom 300LP.

Would this rod be a good (or better) fit to pair with an Tanacom 1000 electric reel for slow pitch jigging in 800 to 1100' of water and jigs from 400 to 600 g?
