Usually I get better bite/hookup ratios fishing mackerel with 20lb but switched to this 30lb and definitely found it worth it. Limited out on bluefish in 5 mins. Did 9 fish is 30 mins with no loss of lure.

I snell my own hooks and rig with Quattro 40lb test and I think its great. Both the quattro mono leader and line really do disappear under water, at least to my own eyes. I don't know if it helps catch more fish, but there was one evening when I was the only one catching when a school of Stripers moved in. Holds up very well as far as abrasions go when I fish from the jetty or… read more rocky areas. I was also still able to reel in some nice size blues without it snapping even though the line was a little chewed up. Very easy to tie knots with. I use a trilene or improved clinch knots for fish finding rigs and leaders, snelling my hooks and a dropper loops for my high low rigs, all hold very well and never slip. The leader does become a little stiff, brail and cloudy but does not fray after about 25 hours of use, so I would rerig after two or three trips or every trip to be safe. I've been using this stuff for the last three months and so far I've been very happy with this product. I've also been using Hi Seas Mono lines, Black Widow, Grand Slam Mono and Quattro Plus Line, since last summer and I don't think you can wrong with any of them.
