Team Daiwa 12'
very light rod with great cast and at an excellent price!
Great Rod. Casts a mile
I picked up a TDSF 1202MHFS last week and headed to the beach. This rod was an upgrade from a Shakespeare 12' Breakwater Ugly Stik that I never liked using because it felt heavy, clumsy and delicate. I paired it with a old model Okuma Avenger 80a spinning reel. I only caught two skate in about 10 hours of fishing but I would say the rod performed excellently. The lure weight…

rating is 2-9 oz. I used a 5 oz. sputnik sinker and 6 oz. pyramid sinker, both with a whole clam as bait. The rod loaded perfectly at both these weights and cast for very long distances. I think weight ratings are accurate. I liked this rod so much that I will be upgrading the reel so I can use it more often.
Team Daiwa Surf 12 ft
Slim blank. Light and powerful.
Daiwa Surf Rod
Great rod. One of the lightest surf rods I have ever purchased Love it
Fair warning
I bought the 12 foot Team Daiwa Model No: TDSF1202MHFS. It's advertised as rated for 6-16 oz. lure rating and 20-60lb line rating on TD's and other websites as well. But printed on the pole itself, it states it actually has a 2-9 oz. lure rating and 15-40lb line rating. On Daiwa's own website they claim to build it with Fazlite ring guides but attached to the pole was a tag that… read more said it had Alconite ring guides. Daiwa makes great products but I felt the need to inform the buying public of the misinformation so you can make a more accurately informed buying decision.
Real light Rod.
Bought the 9 ft med rod and it casts 3/4-2 oz jigs and swim baits about 70 yard easy. Don't even have to whip it. Paired w/ a saltist 4000 and 20 lb daiwa j
Braid ?8 (island blue). Smoothest casts i've ever had. You can feel every bite. The 2 pieces when connected do not come off easy.
A favorite west coast fishing surf rod
I bough the 9 MHF and absolutely loved it when casing fish finder rigs with 3-4 oz pyramid or coin weights. Paired it with my BG 4000 and Clash 5000.
70% of my reels and 30% of my rods are Daiwas.
The only downside which you need to consodering when buying Daiwa Products is the turnaround time for warranty claims.
While it is very easy ti reach customer service…

the turnaround time (in my case 7 month) for a warrantly claim and the fact that they want u to aend back the whole broken rod not just the broken part makes not convinient at all when you thino you are dealing with a large outfit such as Daiwa.
The only reason giving it 4/5 starts is the warrnty claim experience and the leg work and calls it takes to follow up.
I would recommend the 10'6 MH rod paired with a a 5500 size BG or SSVI or a 6000 Spheros
These rods have a 70/30 split. The top section of the rod is a little bit over 8' long.
Anas, The rod weight is 13.6 oz
All of the Team Daiwa Surf Rods are a 70/30 split except for the 8' model which is one piece.
The 12' Team Daiwa surf rod weighs 1 lb 1.6 oz.
I would match the 10' Team Daiwa Surf rod with the Daiwa BG 6500 for better balance and you would get better distance in your cast using the 10' model.
The 1002 mhfs model weighs 12.8 oz.
The 9' model would be a better option if pairing it with the 10' team daiwa rod. Or you could use the 5500 size Spinfisher on the 10' M or MH rod.
The Daiwa TDSURF902MFS Team Daiwa Surf Spinning Rod would be the best rod to match with the 4000 Pursuit reel you have chosen. I would advise using a heavier reel in the 5000 or 6000 size and a 10' team Daiwa rod if your targeting larger sharks.
The Penn Slammer 6500 will pair well with the 10'6'' M or MH Team Daiwa Surf rod.
Any rod from 9 - 11 will be good.
<span style="font-size:11pt;line-height:107%;font-family:Arial, sans-serif;">For this rod: <a href="https://www.tackledirect.com/daiwa-tdsf801mfs-team-daiwa-surf-spinning-rod.html" style="background-color:rgb(236,237,239);color:rgb(35,82,124);font-family:
Yes these rods are a 50/50 split
The Penn Slammer III 4500 would pair well with a 7'-8'6" rod such as, the St. Croix Triumph Surf, St. Croix Mojo Surf, or the Tsunami TSAWESS 882M Airwave Elite Surf Spinning Rod, which is 8'8", but would still be a good chocie.<p><br /></p><p>https://www
I would go with the 5000 sizes for either reel. This should make a setup that balances better and fishes more effectively.
The 5000 size in either reel would be a good fit.
The 12ft has a extremely thick blank that can handle 16 oz's
This reel can be used in saltwater. Consistent maintenance will certainly extend its life.
<span>Hi Tee, Based on your fishing application, I would recommend the 9ft Medium model: TDSF902MFS. However, since this is currently sold out I would also recommend the Star PFS1225S90 Paraflex Surf Rod. </span><a>https://www.tackledirect.com/star-pfs122
<span>Hi Dean, According to Daiwa, all multi-piece models in the current Team Daiwa Surf Spinning Rod series will be 50/50 split construction. Please let us know if theres anything else we can assist you with. Tight Lines. </span>
<span>Hi Wayne, I would recommend a Daiwa SALTIST4500 Saltist Spinning Reel. </span><a>https://www.tackledirect.com/daiwa-saltist4500-saltist-spinning-reel.html</a><span> This reel would pair nicely with the Daiwa TDSF902MHFS Team Daiwa Surf Spinning Rod
<span>Hi Ismael, I would recommend a Spinning rod between 6'6" to 7ft length for boat fishing applications. Specifically I would recommend a Daiwa SLTGJ66MS Saltiga Jigging Spinning Rod. </span><a>https://www.tackledirect.com/daiwa-sltgj66ms-saltiga-jiggi
<span>Hi Ijubo, The Daiwa Team Surf Spinning rods come in a 50/50 split configuration. For the 11 ft configuration, we recommend going with the 5000 size Daiwa BG to fit the rod. If you have any further questions, please feel free to contact us! Tight Lin
Luke, <p><br /></p><p>These rods have a 50/50 split. You can use braid or mono on these guides, however braid will give you optimal casting distance and line capacity. </p>
Piotr, unfortunately, we do not have the rod in stock to weigh and Daiwa doesn't provide rod weights.
<p>dai-3471 10M is 12.4 oz </p><p>dai-3472 10MH is 12.8oz</p>dai-3474 10'6MH is 11.2oz<p>dai-3475 11MH is 12oz</p><p>dai-3476 12MH is 14.4oz</p>
You may be able to contact Daiwa for the piece your looking for but we only sell the rod as a complete two piece rod
The Daiwa TDSURF1062MHFS Team Daiwa Surf Spinning Rod would pair nicely with the Daiwa Saltiga reel and the Daiwa TDSURF1102MHFS Team Daiwa Surf Spinning Rod will match well with the VSB200.
The weight of the rod is 13.6 oz's
The line weight rating is the rod manufacture's suggestion on where that rod will perform its best same can be said for lure rating most ratings though vary from company to company.
