Samurai line is unlike any other braided line on the market. Sure its strong and sensitive but its also noticeably thinner softer smoother and more flexible than ordinary braids. That means less friction for better casts; reduced line noise on the retrieve; and a faster sink rate due to less current... resistance.

I found burs and defects in my spool
Supposedly the best but I found burs and defects in my spool. I'm willing to give it another shot, maybe I just got a bad spool. The burs were right at the very end of the spool and when I found them I was essentially done filling my reel, so none of them got into the reel (at least nothing that I noticed). I didn't see any other burs as I have been fishing. I've cut back to… read more re-tied a few times (I always do after fishing jettys and boulder fields) and have not noticed anything further in the spool either while fishing.
Rivals Power Pro
and i hate to say that Daiwa is not my favorite company right now, but i have to give it too them here.
Does not feel like you are using 40LB braid
Have this line spooled on my main baitcaster, and it casts like a dream! Definitely feels like something much lighter than 40LB.
Reduced friction
Compared to other braids, this line produces way less friction when fighting a fish. I fished with it for the first time this last weekend, and caught a nice California yellowtail. I was amazed at how quiet this line was when the fish took it's first long run.
Diawa sumarai
Very dissatisfied with this line.don't waste you money.
Braid
Bet blaid line.
duoer thin it allow a mile long cast..
I wish they makes diffrent color..
Expensive but Worth it Depending on Application
This line is incredibly expensive relative to other braids. For that reason, I would not recommend it for freshwater or saltwater bait applications. However, I have this line on my plug rod, and it is INSANE how much extra distance you can get out of this line. I used to use power pro super slick and not be able to reach some spots far off from the beach/shore line, but not anymore.…

Relative to other braids this line sports a smaller diameter. I've had no problems with knot strength, wind knots, or fray thus far.
Waste of money
Lost several fish due to line failure. Horrible knot retention. Wind knots very easily. Don't waste your money
4 out of 5
I gave it a 4 out of 5 because of its pricey+shipping, but overall the braid line exceeds my expectations.
Excellent Braid Line
It is the softest, easiest handling braided line I have fished to date. It is actually thinner than other braids of comparable rated strength and the sensitivity is outstanding.
To pricey
Got this spun on my reel for free when I bought it and the line was fantastic. The only issue I have is the price.
Great line
Takes some getting used to if you have never fished with braid. Excellent choice though.
Good line but not worth the money.
I have tried many braided lines but I found that I have had more line breaks on this line than on the PowerPro.
7 kg sea bream
Then and strong
This is braided line.
Hello Michael, Yes the Samurai braid does come in heavier that 80lbs, but it is only offered in 1500 Yard spools.
Both green and yellow. http://www.tackledirect.com/daiwa-braided-lines.html
