I have been using this rods with the Penny international and 60 lb test braid. So far no issues- very good for fast trolling-

Asked by James 2 years ago

Looking to pair these with Shimano Speedmaster 25's to use trolling for school bluefin, reels are spooled up with 80lb braid, are the roller guides sealed on the sides or can the braid slide off and get stuck?<p><br /></p>

KRAIG FRIEDMAN 2 years ago

The rollers are not "sealed". There is a chance the braid could slip off and get caught between the frame and the rollers.

Asked by Glenn 2 years ago

Would these rods be good for trolling mostly #2 or #3 planers?

Brendan - TackleDirect Customer Service 2 years ago

<span>Hi Glenn, Depending on what your fishing for, I would recommend a TackleDirect TDPS703050SIN Platinum Hook Conventional Kingfish Rod. Specifically Model: TDPS703050SIN; TD Code: TDA-1176. </span><a>https://www.tackledirect.com/tackledirect-tdps70305

Asked by vinny 3 years ago

what would you suggest as a rod for trolling mahi, tuna, mackerel and even some wahoo trolling on a talica 25 2 speed?<p>The wahoo trolling would be pulling a joe schute or yo zuri bonitas and dtx minnows</p>

Rick - TackleDirect Customer Service 3 years ago

Vinny,<p>The Daiwa Saltist Trolling rod STT56MHF will pair nicely with the Shimano Talica 25II for targeting kingfish, mahi, and wahoo.  Please let us know if there is anything else we can assist you with. </p>

These are more geared towards sailfish, kings, and dolphin trolling. I would check out the Tsunami Trophy Wire Line Casting Rods for a solid, affordable wireline rod.<p><br /></p><p>https://www.tackledirect.com/tsunami-trophy-wire-line-casting-rods.html<b
