Versatile Northeast ground fishing rod

Brian O.

Exceptional rod for Fluke, Seabass and scup. Great power to move the fish as well as sensitive to feel each bite. Highly recommend and can’t wait for Blackfish season to really put it to the test. I’ll be buying more.

paired this rod with VR50 reel. I fish fish it mainly for bonita and albies from my kayak. its perfectly balanced for this type of fishing. also use it for catching schoolies on the flats. the softer tip makes it easy for working plastics.

They are very slim and thin.

Wich model would be good for a 5000 size stradic for live bait fishing

Donald 7 years ago

The Daiwa PRIN76HFS Proteus Inshore Spinning Rod would be a good match for the stradic 5000.

How long is the reargrip on the the xxh model?

looking to match a Proteus Inshore spinning rod to a Penn slammer III 3500. To be used from a kayak for European Pike Do you recommend this rod for the application and if so what model?

Devon 7 years ago

This pairing would work well for bottom fishing or vertical jigging. I would not advise using this rod if your application will involve alot of casting because it has a rather long but section which could make casting from a seated position difficult.

What rod will best go with a lexa wn 300

Alex T 4 years ago

Depending on your fishing style or what you are targeting I would recommend going with a 7' Medium or Medium Heavy rated rod

Asked by Allen 6 years ago

How long are the fore and rear grips on these rods? and what rod would you recommend for a Saragossa 6000 SW? Will be using it as a snook rod

Donald 6 years ago

I would recommend using the 7'6'' M for snook fishing and that rod has a great length grip for the application your using the rod for.

What is the lure rating for the 7foot medium heavy Daiwa proteus inshore rod? Also can this rod be used for fluke, sea bass and striped bass off a boat?

Brian 4 years ago

Daiwa does not list a lure rating for this line of rods and it could certainly be used for those species. Would pair up well with a 4000 class spinning reels.

Asked by Jon 4 years ago

Do you recommend the 7 foot medium heavy rod for working soft plastics, Bucktails and other lures? I fish off piers and boats and I need a rod that will be strong and hold up, but at the same time be able to cast and retrieve without problems. I fish for

Brian 4 years ago

Yes, the MH rated for 12-20lb line would be a great option for what you are describing.

Would the 7'6" Medium Fast action be good for throwing small bucktails and soft plastics for NJ fluke off sod banks and jetties?? Il be pairing it with a stadic fk4000

Bernie De Graaf 5 years ago

Your going to want to have a rod that can handle a little bit heavier of a lure like a 3/4 to 1 oz up to 2 oz for casting ability and to hold bottom to bounce.

Bernie 6 years ago

Both inshore and boat rods come equipped with a graphite composite blank both made with fuji dps reel seats as well as fuji guides. The grip is the same on both rods as well Daiwa used the X-tube grip for better handling.
