Redesigned for the 20-21 season the Daiwa Proteus Boat Spinning Rods feature a rugged and powerful design to give you the upper hand over the toughest game fish. Designed with heavy lifting in mind these long fast action rods provide a super strong backbone for unmatched lifting power and are a favo...rite among West Coast anglers for California yellowtail and bluefin tuna. Anglers in any fishery will benefit from having a Proteus on board any time where you need a little extra power to get big fish in the boat whether youre inshore or out in the deep. Built on blanks constructed from Daiwas High Volume Fiber (HVF) carbon technology the Proteus achieves the superior strength and rigidity needed for coastal applications while keeping the blank thin and lightweight for comfortable fishing. Also outfitted with Daiwas X45 Technology these rods are designed using a 45 degree bias construction that prevents ovalization and twisting of the blank for greater hoop strength under heavy loads. The blank construction is rounded out with Daiwas Braiding-X design where an outer layer of carbon tape is wrapped in a crossing diagonal pattern giving the rod blank a striking appearance as well as improving power operability and sensitivity. All models are equipped Fuji FazLite Tangle Free K-Guides to prevent line tangles with braid and provide long accurate casts. The ultra durable EVA Grip provides a solid infallible connection to the rod.

<span>Hi Robert, Depending on your fishing application, I would recommend a Daiwa PTB80HFS Proteus Boat Spinning Rod. </span><a>https://www.tackledirect.com/daiwa-ptb80hfs-proteus-boat-spinning-rod.html</a><span> This would pair well with a Shimano Sarago
<span>Hi Rob, The Daiwa Proteus Boat rod will pair well with the Daiwa BG 5000. Please let us know if there is anything else we can assist you with!</span>
Yes it would. I would recommend either the 7'4" XH or the 7'6" H for this reel.
Daiwa does not provide information on Lure Rating for these rods except a few of the 8' models. I will post the link directly to Daiwas Proteus Boat rod specification page.<p><br /></p><p>https://www.daiwa.com/us/contents/rods/proteus/index.html<br /></p>
Typically boat rods do not come with lure ratings. There are only two models listed on Daiwa's website that include the lure ratings. The prtb80hxfs is rated 20-85 grams and the prtb80xhfs is rated 60-115 grams. They can be found in this link: https://www
The 7'4" XH would be the best match to a Saltiga Dog Fight Spinning Reel.
Daiwa J-Braid 50 lb test braid is equivalent to 12 lb mono, and 80 lb braid is equivalent to 20 lb mono.
I'd recommend at 3500 size on the 7' Medium and a 3000 on the Medium-Light.
