Best inshore flats rod for the money

The 7'6 MFS is pretty much the perfect inshore rod. The blank has a good fast tip (about the first 1/3 of the rod) and good progressive backbone. The handle length is great too, when working a top water, the rod just gently bounces between your arm and side, that simple and you're walking the dog. When casting light lures the butt of the rod is just in the right natural place for read more your hand, The rod loads really well and lets you get good power into the cast to launch light lures a country mile. It handles big fish very well, with enough tip and bend to keep small hooks set , with plenty of backbone to put pressure on big fish. Honestly this blank is very close to the action of the 7'6" Loomis e6x. very close, for less than half the money.I'm very satisfied with this rod, so much so I bought 2.

The 7'6" MH Daiwa Procyon would match up great with the 4500 spinfisher

Is the <a href="https://www.tackledirect.com/daiwa-pcyi761mlfs-procyon-inshore-rod.html" style="white-space: normal; text-decoration: none; color: rgb(51, 122, 183); font-family: Arial;">PCYI761MLFS</a> ok for Daiwa BG2500 reels?<p>Nike</p>

Ryan 4 years ago

That would be a killer light tackle set-up! You could even bump up to the 3000 size, which may balance a bit better on the 7'6 model.

Asked by Jake Flynn 7 years ago

Are the guides meant for braided lines?

Devon 7 years ago

The guides on Procyon will certainly be able to accommodate braided lines.
