they are very much lightweight, strong. MH for slow jig in bottom, H for vertical, slow jig. i like spinning heavy. you should have these rods MH, HEAVY. i bought 3

Evan,<p>The Shimano Spheros SW 10000 will pair nicely with the Daiwa Harrier X HRX70HS spinning rod for bottom fishing and jigging.  It can be used for throwing poppers, but would not be the first choice.  Usually want longer rod for throwing poppers to t

Evan,<p>The Shimano Spheros SW 10000 will pair nicely with the Daiwa Harrier X HRX70HS spinning rod for all styles of jigging for tuna.  It will not be optimum setup for throwing poppers, but can be used in a pinch.  Normally want a longer rod for throwin

7' Heavy would be a little overkill for fluking, porgy, and black fish. Medium heavy would be a more versatile option

This rod is rated for 80-200 grams which is roughly equivalent to 3-7oz.

This rod can absolutely handle jigs up to 200-250g, hold on though, these tuna will take you for a ride.
