Great rod!
Bought the 2 pc 702ML rod couple years ago and it is perfect. Fished with surfising for croakers, perch. And also bay & harbor for bass halibut etc. Also have it on freshwater lake and got stripped bass. This ML rod is light and strong, with a full cork and sensitive tips. It is more like a moderate fast action so it is easy to sling a light jig out. Very impressive rod!
Great value, light & strong
I have switched my entire lineup of rods to the harriers. From their lightest weight 2 piece, for traveling. We use the medium and medium heavy on our charter boats. We have the saltist spinning reels on all but two( penn slammer llls) perfect combos. We are sticking to this setup , they feel light and are higher quality, which clients appreciate. Have had 4 clients purchase Herrier… read more rods after charters telling us they were so comfortable and confident in the gear, they got their own. Great Job Diawa!
Decent value
I bought 2 during the buy 1 get 1 free promotion. For a $50 rod, it was a great deal. If I was paying full price for one of these, it is decent. It is very lightweight and has a responsive tip. I would classify it as medium fast action. I did break one due to user error, but it wouldn't be worth it for me to ship it back to Daiwa for an evaluation. It has a tangle-free guide tip,… read more which is a critical feature for casting light lures.
Solid Rod
Love the action. Cork is just OK. Needs more backbone.
San Diego Bay Fishing
This pole is what I needed to cast the light jigs and lures, works perfect. Medium light and 7 foot. I will always have it when I hit San Diego Bay. Absolute best bang for the buck.
Plenty of action
This is a great rig to troll lures for trout. Action is perfect for any speed
Diawa Harrier Inshore- Good to go
I've been fishing this rod inshore on the TX coast 3-4 days a week for about 3 weeks now. Medium light fast action provides great sensitivity teamed with a Diawa BG and power pro braid. So far it has held up to being hauled in and out of the truck, knocked over on the jetty, and traveled many miles on the solo skiff. Slot reds, trout, and dozens of monster ladyfish have helped…

to run it through the trial period. Throwing soft plastics, jerkbaits, and twitch-baits, I have had no issues. This is my only 2 piece rod and I guess they have their place, but I guess if I had to have a con regarding this rod, that would be my only dislike, overall this is a quality rod.
Great price for a pole but
Stick with Daiwa for freshwater applications. When the poles or reels go near saltwater they tend to not function as well, and break down.
Great fishing rod for this price
Works great on trout and puppy drum. The light action makes smaller fish fun but has enough backbone to land bigger ones.
Great rod
Excellent quality construction, very good action.
Great rod for inshore
I fished this rod this past week and landed four 30" plus sized redfish with ease. A great rod to use for finess casting and lightweight inshore fishing. You will not be disappointed!
Awesome
This rod has been the sea bass slayer! I love the feel of it!
This rod has been discontinued
Hello Michael, the 7 foot Daiwa Harrier rod has a 8-17 line weight and a lure rating of 3/8 to 3/4.
Yes that would match up nice.
The 2 piece models are a 50/50 split.
Daiwa Harrier rods are made in China.
