Solid rod - Striped bass and blues
Used my coastal sp for bass and blues, caught a 35lb striped bass on it so it can handle the mustard. Ended up snapping it when a seal grabbed my bluefish off Nantucket, cool looking rod, casts great, not sure how these other guys broke them so easy, it took a 300lb seal to finally add it to my rod-graveyard.
Great rod, needs little better design.
The rod was great for the money, I feel like it couldve used a 50/50 split instead of 70/30. Seems all the backbone is in the bottom half.
Overall nice rod and nice price
It's a nice and cheap rod that lots of fisherman can afford also a durable rod that can do its job
Faulty blank
Got this rod for a tarpon trip to Florida the 9 1-4 oz was casting a 2.5oz lure and snapped on a cast on the second day hoping they will replace it even have video proof love the rod just hope it was a faulty blank and the next one is better
9' 1-4 oz.
I picked this rod up for lighter tackle shore fishing and i really enjoy it. I can still get pretty good distance if i'm throwing 1/2 oz jigs but the sweet spot really is that 1 1/2 oz to 2 oz range. Landed a 30 lb striper with it on my first outing with it throwing a weightless sluggo. Flicks it out there no problem. I do wish the butt section was a tiny bit thinner like the emblem… read more but that's just me being picky. Good stick.
Broke it twice this year!
Unfortunately, I have had issues with the 10'6 1-4 oz rated rod. First time breaking it the top piece broke between the first and second guide while fighting a decent sized Jack Crevalle. I sent the rod back to Daiwa through warranty and received a new one 2 weeks later... same model. After 2 months it finally broke again when pulling up a 5 lb bluefish from the jetty. A couple… read more well known youtubers have reviewed this rod and received multiple reports of the medium 1-4 oz models breaking. It was suggested that there is a manufacturing defect with these particular models. I have heard great things about the 11 foot MH but haven't tested it.
Good rod
Itâ™s super light. Cast great.
Good quality rod
Picked the 10 ft rod mh for a fishing trip down in Mexico great results from fighting fish on the rocks handled amazing no problem with it daiwa makes good quality products. Caught a 12 lb cubera snapper with ease
It's ok.
Not as good as the St. Croix Mojo, but it's alright. It works better with lighter plugs.
Amazing rod !!
this is my favorite rod for fishing salt water. this is ideal to go on the reel "saltist" great combo... I PROMISE !
The Daiwa CLSP1102MHFS Coastal Salt Pro Surf Spinning Rod would be a good fit with the Penn Fierce 8000 for fishing the Outer Banks.
The Daiwa Coastal Salt Pro Surf Spinning Rod that i checked out is a dark gray.
The Penn Slammer 4500 would be a great reel to pair with the Daiwa Coastal rod surf fishing in Hawaii with lures. The Slammer is a durable and reliable reel especially using it in heavy saltwater conditions.
The butt end is 1" in diameter.
The Daiwa CLSP1062MFS Coastal Salt Pro Surf Spinning Rod weighs 12.8 oz.
Marlow, Hello this rod is a 70/30
The St Croix MSS106MM2 Mojo Surf Spinning Rods paired with a Penn Slammer 6500 would be a good combo for the application you will be using it for. Thank you for considering TackleDirect for your fishing needs.
These ratings appear to be for monofilament. You would be able to use braid to a significantly heavier lb test with these rods.
The Daiwa Coastal Salt Pro Surf Spinning Rods have FUJI ALCONITE LOW RIDER GUIDES.
The Slammer 6500, Spinfisher 6500 and the Daiwa BG 5000 would be good reels to match with the 11' CLSP1102MHFS model rod.
The rod weighs 14.4 ounces and the butt section's measurement of the rod is 59" while the tip section of the rod measures approximately 90". This rod is built to fish Daiwa's SP Minnows, so it would be great for fishing lures. But, I believe the 3 to 10 o
Personally, I would recommend the MH 10ft to match with the Daiwa Emblem Pro EX 5000. But, if you prefer the 9ft and want to shy away from looking into purchasing the 10ft than definitely go with the 9ft MH. It would handle the reel nicely, I just think t
Hello Dave. The "F" is for fast action and the "R" stands for regular, or moderate, action. Please feel free to contact us if you have any more questions!
Vasili, I recommend you take a look at the St. Croix Mojo Surf spinning rod.
This rod is available in Medium Heavy power in the following lengths; 9', 10', 10'6", and 11'.
It is available in Medium Heavy power in the following lengths; 9', 10', 10'6", and 11'
That really depends on the length of the rod you choose, what you are fishing for, and what method you will use i.e.. bait or lures. If you can give us a better idea of what you want to do, we be happy to set you up with the right reel.
The butt end is 39 1/2". The Top end measures 73 1/2".
For the DAI-2029; Butt length 44.5 inches Tip length 86.5 inches Weight 12.8 ounces For the DAI-2030; Butt length 48 inches Tip length 89.5 inches
The Daiwa BG 4500 would be a good fit for that size rod. It would have the right light capacity and backbone to do most types of surf casting.Â
The Coastal salt only comes in a 12 foot spinning but the penn carnage two comes in a 12 foot castingÂ
For lighter baits such as the sp minnow the 10 foot medium may be the better choice.
The Temple Fork GIS SCS 902-2 Gary Loomis Tactical Series Surf Rod - 9 ft. would pair up well with your battle 2 and would greatly increase your casting distance.
That combo would balance out nicely.
<span>Hi Ryan, I would recommend the Daiwa BGMQ5000D-H BG MQ Spinning Reel. </span><span><a href="https://www.tackledirect.com/daiwa-bgmq5000d-h-bg-mq-spinning-reel.html">https://www.tackledirect.com/daiwa-bgmq5000d-h-bg-mq-spinning-reel.html</a></span><s
I would highly recommend a Daiwa BG 4500/5000 or a Penn Battle 3.Â
This rod would pair well with an 8500 Slammer. Butt length is 48"Â
This rod is a 70/30 split.
These guides according to our specs have the <span style="color:rgb(51,51,51);font-family:Arial, Helvetica, sans-serif;font-size:12px;">FUJI Alconite Ring Low Rider Guides</span>
The rod is recommended for only 2 - 5 ounces.Â
I would recommend using a 6000-8000 size reel when it comes to a 12ft rod, mainly to balance out the rod and then to also get proper casting distance.
Yes it can handle 1-4 oz sinkers.
The Daiwa BG 5000 would be a great match to pair with the 11' H for pier, jetty and bridge fishing.
The M Daiwa Coastal rod will provide more distance in your cast comparing it to the MH.
Hello John. The Daiwa CLSP1102HFS Coastal Salt Pro Surf Spinning Rod can be used for jigging 5 oz in heavy currents.
I'd suggest a 4500 size.
