Ardito Travel Surf Rod DAI-2469
I just took this rod to Costa Rica to fish off the rocks in the northwest Guanacaste region for big jacks and rooster fish. This rod is absolutely incredible and can cast surface plugs or jigs a mile away. The casting distance of this rod is absolutely incredible. I am buying another one right now.
Amazing !!!!!!!
This rod is very flexible for a 5-piece rod, action that you normally would get from a 1-piece rod. I tested it shore casting, I can cast pretty far even with a lighter sinker, although I didn't make an attempt to break it, I did put it through some rigorous casting tests. I've never used a rod that's longer than 7 feet, this 11 foot rod is pretty sensitive specially when I used… read more it for stripers. My goodness, it freaked me out a couple of times when I got a bite and I wasn't looking, I mean you can really feel it. I'm planning to buy another one for my next fishing trip to Nova Scotia, great rod
Nie rod for the price
Nice to have a big rod pack down so small. Guides could be a little bigger but seems to cast pretty well. Paired it with a Penn Fierce 6000 Live liner. I would buy it again.
Excellet rod for the traveler
My buddy who travels for work bought this rod and after he came back from FL he was very impressed with with the quality and performance. I went ahead and ordered mine. For a 5 piece travel rod this is a very quality product. It also has a fuji reel seat. When I opened the case and tried to assembe the rod I saw that the middle section was missing and instead there were two sections… read more of the same size (section 4 before the top one). Contacted TD. Great customer service. I shipped the item I got and they will send me a new one which I hope there wont be any issues with any of the 5 pieces.
Casts well but heavy
I can casts 2-3 ounce 25-30 meters, but I find it heavy if you were to use it for a few hours. It is also not very sensitive. I used a Fenwick Eagle(salmon version-10.5 ft) and the Ardito in the same spot and caught stripers with the Fenwick - much more sensitive. The Ardito did not catch anything...
I bought the 11 ft MH.
(The first Ardito also broke after a few casts-one…

Lightweight Travel Rod
Seems to be a nice rod so far. Fairly well built and light. I wish the case was a little better quality.
Does its job
Casts a mile and good quality
Nice Travel Surf Rod
I am really giving this travel rod 3.5 stars but rounded up to 4. This is a nice rod and it does the job. I am happy with the performance and have landed several fish with it so far. My biggest gripe with the rod is that the pieces do not fit 'flush' against one another. Daiwa says this is intentional but it really ruins the aesthetics of an otherwise great looking rod.

/>Imagine looking at a rod where you can see a pronounced transition between each piece. Each transition has about a half inch gap between the ferrule of the two connecting pieces. This gap exposes the unfinished tapered graphite tip of the larger section that inserts into the bottom of the next smaller section. I suppose this design ensures all the pieces fit together tightly; however, the rod would look so much better if all the pieces fit flush against each other when assembled.
Other than that, I wish the case was sturdier and less bulky.
Light
Light..
Perfect travel and surf rod
This is a beauty : light, great handle, seat and grip. very nice solid slip that nice wip.
Great Travel Rod
I was amazed at how well a five piece travel rod was able to cast three and four ounce
lures with no problem. The rod is very light and does most of the work.
Daiwa Travel Surf Rod
Been looking for a travel rod for some time, so when I saw this, I applied my birthday bonus and got a very nice deal.
Wenchao,
The rod has a standard reel seat and will be able to fit most reels. Please let us know if there is anything else we can assist you with.

The Daiwa Ardito Surf Travel Rods are spinning rods.
The travel case is 30 1/2 inches and the rough estimate for each section is 28 1/2 inches per section.
The Daiwa Ardito Surf Travel Rods are fast action rods.
I would say smaller sharks you would be able to handle this rod. Medium sized sharks will be testing this rods strength.
The rear handle length is 19" from the middle of the reel seat to the butt end of the rod.
The weight of the Daiwa ARDT1105MHFS-TR Ardito Travel Surf Rod is 11.2 oz.
You would want to use a rod with a bit more backbone fishing in the canal. The ODM Jigster series rods would be good rods to look into fishing in a canal with heavy currents and baits.
yes
That combo will pair well together. Good choice.
Yes, you can fit a reel inside.
yes, it will fit
The Daiwa Ardito Surf Travel Rods come with a nylon hard case. This case measures approximately 27"inches. Please let us know if theres anything else we can assist you with. Tight Lines.

The guides and the reel seat are all Fuji components.
A 5000 series and up would work. Something like the Shimano Ultegra would pair nicely with the Ardito.
The line going through a smaller guide actually increases casting distance especially when using braid due to the soft nature of the line.
Hello Jon, yes a spinning or conventional reel can be used with this rod.
Yes you can, the Daiwa Bg would pair up with the Ardito and wouldn't have any problems handling smaller gt's
A Penn slammer 3 or the 5500 Ultegra would be a good match for the 11ft
The Z-55S would balance out better with the Daiwa Ardito Surf Travel Rod
