I'm sure you can find some cheaper sleeves elsewhere but when you're a serious fisherman and looking to hook some serious fish it's best to spend a few extra cents to get the tried and true equipment. So long as you're halfway competent at crimping these sleeves will hold. I know when I use AFW sleeves if something happens it will because of an error on my part and not a failure… read more of the sleeve.

I use these for the titanium leader material rather than trying to tie knots. They work great with a triple pass through.

The barrel sleeves have great bite and holding power. I use them to make leaders for shark fishing while on vacation.

I purchased some nylon-coated cable leader, and I highly recommend going with the double sleeves. These slipped, even if I used two crimps.

I have a Jinkai SC-2C Crimping Tool and the #5 AFW-218 Sleeves won't crimp tightly using that tool and those sleeves on AFW-261 90lb Test . What tool should I be using?

Jeff,<p>The smallest single barrel sleeves you can get away with would be J02B-B (AFW-0040) for the 40lb wire doubled up. As for a crimper, the Momoi Mini Hand Crimper (MOM-0266) will work well with those sleeves. Please let us know if there is anythin

your leader has a diameter of approx .23", so even the largest sleeve may be too small for this size wire leader

Do you need a specific crimping tool? What crimper do you guys recommend for these single barrel sleeves? Ill be using size #2 crimps for 65 lb 7x7 strand uncoated wire. Thanks for your help.

You really cannot use AFW for the fluorocarbon, they are for cable. Use the size J Jinkai sleeve.

Normally the titanium leader wire is not crimped using sleeves. You would normally haywire twist any single strand wire, but in this case this is very flexible wire that lets you tie a knot.
