Privacy

FishingCritic is research-led, using maker data and published sources. We have no hands-on test results for this edition.

What is stored when you sign up?

The sign-up endpoint stores your email, page source, the knot-cards identifier in a field named pattern, the exact consent text, creation time and a SHA-256 hash of the request IP plus a server secret. It does not store the raw IP in the subscribers table. A repeated email updates its source, requested download, consent text and IP hash while keeping the first creation time.

The Cloudflare D1 binding is SUBSCRIBERS. The information supports the requested download and the monthly FishingCritic email. This build has no email-delivery service connected. A successful response provides the PDF in the browser; it does not claim an email was sent.

What happens if sign-up is unavailable?

The endpoint returns 503 when its store or hash secret is missing. It does not save your email or show a success message. A hidden honeypot rejects automated submissions. Consent is required.

How can you unsubscribe or request deletion?

A deletion and unsubscribe contact is not published yet. It must be provided before the monthly email service begins. No monthly emails are sent by this build.

What do the tools collect?

The setup builder, knot finder, comparison and line converter run in your browser. They use no browser storage. The comparison and setup choice can be put in the page URL. Hosting infrastructure can process request information to serve the site. There are no analytics or advertising scripts in this build.
