How to tie a uni knot

A sliding barrel knot that seats against a hook eye. The wraps go around both parallel strands inside the loop.

Where should you use it?

Line: mono, fluoro, braid. Use: hook, lure. The standing line goes to the reel; the tag is the free end. A bight is a folded section of line.

What should you check before casting?

Wrapping only the standing line makes a different structure. Both strands must lie inside the turns.

Wet the line before tightening. Pull firmly on the finished connection, inspect the wraps, and retie if they overlap or the line is damaged. No knot-strength percentage is claimed.
